L'app Igbo Calendar Riddles Proverbs è uno strumento freemium il cui scopo principale è aiutare gli utenti a determinare il giorno di mercato igbo corrispondente (afọ, nkwọ, eke o orie) di qualsiasi data del Calendario Gregoriano entro un periodo di tempo ragionevole (in particolare tra il 1900 e il 2100).
I quattro giorni di mercato che compongono "ofu izu" (una settimana) nel sistema del calendario tradizionale igbo sono molto significativi nelle comunità igbo, soprattutto quando si fissano eventi tradizionali e cerimonie culturali. Qualsiasi calendario che aiuti a determinare il giorno di mercato igbo di una data futura diventa pratico e un importante strumento di pianificazione.
Per rendere più divertente l'utilizzo di questa app, le versioni precedenti sono state sviluppate per assomigliare ai calendari da parete che teniamo in casa, mostrando bellissime foto a tema igbo.
Per aumentare il coinvolgimento e l'interazione degli utenti, le versioni aggiornate dell'app ora includono Proverbi Igbo, Enigmi Igbo ed Eventi Storici e Personaggi Igbo di rilievo. In particolare, Igbo Riddles si presenta sotto forma di un gioco in cui gli utenti vengono sfidati a fornire risposte ad enigmi in lingua Igbo, diffondendo così la lingua e la cultura Igbo.
