L'app viene offerta dal Servizio meteorologico tedesco come un vero e proprio sistema di briefing meteorologico per l'aviazione e in questa nuova versione comprende le seguenti aree dell'intera offerta di briefing:
- Panoramica attuale del meteo aeronautico per la tua zona
- GAFOR Germania graficamente preparato
- METAR e TAF (rapporti individuali, ricerca raggio e rotte di volo)
- Meteogrammi (IFR, VFR e volo a vela) per aeroporti e località liberamente selezionabili in Europa
- Sezioni trasversali (IFR, VFR e aliante) per i voli in Europa
- Avvisi meteo:
o Avvisi meteo aeroportuali per alcuni aeroporti in Germania
o Avvisi di area GAFOR per le aree GAFOR tedesche
o SIGMET: avvisi meteorologici per le aree informazioni di volo inferiori e superiori (FIR/UIR) in Germania
- Basso livello SWC Germania
- Immagini RADAR ad alta risoluzione (Europa composita)
- Dati sui fulmini (Europa)
- Immagini satellitari (Europa)
- Dati meteorologici attuali sotto forma di mappa (visibilità, soffitto, vento, tempo)
- Previsioni a tre giorni Germania
- Previsioni del modello WAWFOR (World Aviation Weather Forecast) basate sul modello di previsione DWD ICON-EU per la regione Europa per un periodo di previsione fino a +78 ore (ghiaccio e turbolenza fino a +48 ore). I seguenti parametri di previsione sono disponibili in una visualizzazione mappa interattiva:
o Meteo significativo
o Copertura nuvolosa
o Pressione al suolo
o Vento e raffiche di superficie
o Precipitazioni
o Temperatura (suolo e altitudine)
o Geopotenziale
o Vento in quota
o Informazioni sulla glassa ADWICE

L’app DWD FlugWetter è disponibile solo per il gruppo chiuso di utenti “Aviation/pc_met Internet Service” e può essere utilizzata solo in combinazione con l’accesso a pagamento al servizio Internet pc_met del Servizio meteorologico tedesco. Come dati di accesso devono essere utilizzati il login e la password del servizio Internet pc_met www.flugwetter.de.

What's New:
Mit dem neuen Release 2.7 der DWD FlugWetter-App sind nun auch Cross Sections verfügbar.
Durch die Auswahl der jeweiligen Start-/Zielflugplätze, sowie bis zu zwei weiteren Wegpunkten kann die Flugstrecke innerhalb Europas individuell ausgewählt werden. Es kann zwischen drei verschiedenen Flugrouten-Typen ausgewählt werden: IFR, VFR oder Segelflug. Im Bereich Favoriten können zudem Flugrouten abgespeichert werden.

Mit dem Release 2.5 sind neu Radardaten des Deutschland Radar-Komposits verfügbar.
Die Radardaten des Deutschland Radar-Komposits basieren auf den Niederschlag-Scans der Radarstandorte des DWD und werden alle fünf Minuten aktualisiert.
Außerdem bietet das Deutschland Radar-Komposit eine Verlagerungsvorhersage für einen Vorhersagezeitraum bis +2 Stunden in fünfminütigen Zeitschritten und zeigt die unterschiedlichen Niederschlagsphasen an (Regen, Schneeregen, Schnee, Graupel/Hagel).
