This app provides the list of most commonly used words in the English language. These words should be instantly recognizable, without hesitation, by the reader. Dr. Fry stated:

- first 100 words make up ~50% of all words published.
- first 300 words make up ~65% of all written material.
Many words are difficult to sound out and should be memorized as sight words. I designed this app to help my kids learn the words without distraction from animations so they could focus on the words themselves. The app has a feature to playback the sound as to help the child with pronunciation. You can also hide the word and play the sound and have the child practice memorization/spelling.
This app provides all 1000 words as opposed to other apps that only give you a few words for free and then require you to upgrade for a cost. My motto is..."You shouldn't have to pay to learn". Enjoy and please do not forget to rate. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
