Real-Time Online PVP
In Shadow Fight Arena you can fight against the real players online in the Ranked game mode. During fights you are able to use different combinations of directions and kicks/punch to perform different moves, so adapting the situation quickly is the key to win a battle. You may find the battle difficult at first, especially if you are not familiar with this kind of gameplay, but after some practice, you will get to handle it very well.
Unlock More Legendary Heroes
Winning battles will earn you hero cards and gold to unlock and upgrade your heroes. You will be able to unlock a new hero if you collect enough hero shards, and once you unlock a hero, you can level it up once you gain enough hero cards. Shadow Fight Arena has adopted in some of the heroes from the Shadow Fight 3 such as the Emperor, Marcus, and more.
When your heroes are able to level up, you can select a new talent for the hero according to your need, either to upgrade its health or attack abilities.
Your character can activate a Shadow Form, switching himself/herself into a blue shadow and be able to perform the unique shadow abilities with limited time period. This is very useful to take great damage on your opponents if you are losing the game.
Ranked and Unranked Game Modes
There are two game modes in Shadow Fight Arena: Ranked Mode and Unranked Mode. In the Ranked Mode you will play against the real players online and winning the fights will gain you loot boxes to unlock more rewards. In each fight you create a team of 3 heroes and you need to select the right hero to counteract the opponents’ tactic to win the round. Who wins the first three round out of five wins the battle.
The Unranked Mode is mainly for players who want to practice and improve their battle skills. In this game mode you can choose to play against AI only, or wait for the real player matchmaking. If you wait too long (after a dozen seconds or so), you will be asked to either choose the AI opponent or cancel this round. According to my gameplay, most of the time I cannot match the real players and were forced to play against AI, so I guess there aren’t enough real players online for now. Hope there will be more players joining in after global launch, otherwise it will get boring easily.
Winning each fight will earn you loot boxes with gold and heroes, but it is limited to 10 times a day. Login everyday will also allow you to unlock special rewards including gold, gems and new heroes.
Conclusion
The graphic in Shadow Fight Arena is quite exceptional and much better than the Shadow Fight 3. And you can choose from different graphic qualities depending on your mobile configurations. There are many cool combos that you can perform on each hero, which takes some practice to master them. But the AI fight really bothers me a lot as I’d prefer to play with more real players online. Overall the Shadow Fight Arena is another great piece of Shadow Fight series and I look forward to playing it again after its global release.
