Story and Gameplay

Heroes War: Counterattack Review

Heroes War: Counterattack is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the Z-virus has spread out of the world. To clear the Z-virus, you must recruit various mercenaries and upgrade their skills to win the battles against enemies. There are many interesting dialogs to let you know more about this world while you complete stories one by another.

On the battleground, when dealing with multiple enemies, you can use the range skills to bring damage to more than one enemy. When the Rage Bar is filled up, you are able to use Rage Skill at any time during battle once the Rage Bar is filled up.

Like most of the other RPG on the mobile, Heroes War: Counterattack also has the auto-battle mode to set your hands free. But there is something new this time, as you have to get your heroes within attack range of the enemy before they are able to perform attack skills.

Multiple PvP and PvE Game Modes

Heroes War: Counterattack Review

There are 10 chapters that you need to clear in the Story Mode. Each chapter contains 8 stages to fight against different enemies. Once you complete the whole chapter, you will get in-game currency as reward.

Alongside the story mode, there are so many other PvP and PvE game modes for you to try in Heroes War: Counterattack. You will be able to unlock these game modes gradually when you complete more story stages. You can add friends with players around the world and play with them to complete more missions, or you can create and join a guild once you reach the level requirement.

Collect and Level Up Your Mercenaries

You can make contract with all mercenaries and recruit them to help you defeat the Z-virus. Each mercenary has its own unique skills and you can even customize these skills to fit your battle style.

When you win more battles, your mercenaries will be upgraded with more powerful stats. And you will be rewarded with various kinds of equipment with different stars. Upgrading equipment also makes your mercenaries stronger, but the equipment upgrade is quite slow especially when you want to upgrade them to higher levels or when the equipment is in Legendary or Rare type.

Log-in Rewards and Events

Heroes War: Counterattack Review

Log in Heroes War: Counterattack for 7 days provides you with different rewards including gems and tickets. And it also has a 7-Day Mission Event for you to collect more rewards once you complete mission every day.

Conclusion

Just like most turn-based RPG, Heroes War: Counterattack features interesting storyline, nice animations and great music, but you can see in-game purchase almost everywhere within the game which is quite killing the fun of playing. And upgrading equipment is also very frustrating as it is very slow and might fail.

Pros:

  • Interesting storyline
  • Great animations and music
  • Simple controls

Cons:

  • Too much In-game purchase
  • Upgrade equipment is slow
