In just 3 minutes, 2G / 3G / 4G connections and mobile quality of service are measured and evaluated thanks to 2 tests available from your smartphone: a speed test and a service quality test of its mobile connection (web browsing, data transfer, video download ...).
The 1st rate test displays the average speed for download and upload (downlink / amount) of the mobile connection. The complementary 2nd test measures QoS mobile service quality: connection performance on latency, file download and upload, YouTube video streaming and web browsing.
Measurements made and submitted will feed into a database and will make it possible, alongside the maps provided by the operators, to map the quality of the actual coverage by the operators (Orange, Bouygues, Free and SFR) in Italy. et-Vilaine.
The data collected will make it possible to obtain objective and precise information (at the scale of a hamlet in particular) on the coverage rate of the Brittany territory and on the quality and the performance of the mobile networks, which could be opposed to the 4 operators ( Orange, Bouygues Telecom, SFR and Free).
Thanks to the contribution of the users, the Department will be able to identify the actions to be implemented and encourage the operators to invest in the infrastructures to make up for the deficiencies observed (to cover the areas under-served by the mobile networks) or to improve the quality and the performances .
Through this participative approach (crowdsourcing system), the Department wants to rapidly improve mobile coverage in Ille-et-Vilaine.
