ஆனந்த விகடனில் எழுத்தாளர் கல்கி ஆசிரியராக இருந்த காலத்தில் அவர் எழுதிய முதல் தொடர் நாவல் தான் இந்தக் 'கள்வனின் காதலி'. அக்காலத்தில் ஆனந்த விகடனில் இது தொடர்கதையாக வெளிவந்து தமிழ் வாசகர்கள் பலரின் மத்தியில் பரபரப்பாக பேசப்பட்டது. பிற்காலத்தில் இந்த நாவல் திரைப்படமாகவும் எடுக்கப்பட்டு 1955 ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 13 ஆம் தேதி வெளிவந்தது. அத்திரைப்படத்தில் சிவாஜி கணேசனும், பானுமதியும் நடித்தனர். ஆனால், அதற்கு முன்னமே கல்கி காலமாகி விட்டது தான் சோகம்.
எனினும், நமக்கு ஒரு அற்புதமான கதையை விருந்தாக்கி உள்ளார் அமரர் கல்கி. இதனை கல்கியின் ரசிகர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் டிஜிட்டல் தொழில் நுட்பத்தில் அளிப்பதில் நாங்கள் பெருமைப்படுகிறோம். மேலும், இதனை இறைவன் எங்களுக்கு அளித்த ஒரு அற்புத வாய்ப்பாகவும் கருதுகிறோம்.
