Capital Bikeshare è il sistema di bike sharing di DC, Virginia e Maryland, e il primo bike sharing su larga scala della nazione. Capital Bikeshare (CaBi) ha migliaia di biciclette in centinaia di stazioni in Washington DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Tysons, Reston, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Bethesda e Chevy Chase. E soprattutto, è disponibile 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7.
CaBi consiste in una flotta di biciclette appositamente progettate, robuste e durevoli che sono bloccate in una rete di stazioni di attracco in tutta la città. Le biciclette possono essere sbloccate da una stazione e restituite a qualsiasi altra stazione del sistema, rendendole ideali per viaggi di sola andata. Le persone usano il bike sharing per recarsi al lavoro, incontrare gli amici a cena o semplicemente andare in giro e vedere nuovi luoghi. Dopo l'iscrizione, tutti i viaggi inferiori a 30 minuti sono gratuiti.
L'App CaBi ti consente di acquistare giostre, sbloccare una bicicletta e pedalare subito. È inoltre possibile visualizzare tutte le posizioni delle stazioni, vedere le biciclette e le banchine disponibili e ottenere indicazioni stradali per raggiungerle per iniziare la corsa.
L'app Capital Bikeshare mostra anche le imminenti partenze dei mezzi pubblici, tra cui WMATA Metrorail, Metrobus e linee navetta, autobus DC Circulator, autobus Fairfax Connector, autobus Montgomery RideOn, autobus DASH di Alessandria, autobus TheBus della contea di Prince George, autobus Arlington Regional Transit, treni VRE e Silver Line Express.
