Dextrose Calc does the glucose maths at the cot side: what concentration to prescribe, how to make the bag, and what the baby is actually receiving. Built by a neonatal doctor, for anyone prescribing glucose and feeds.
GIR CALCULATOR
Enter weight, target GIR and the daily glucose volume — the concentration you need appears as you type.
NEW: work the other way round. Enter the concentration running now and see the GIR it delivers.
Tells you whether it can go through a peripheral line or needs a central line, and warns when the GIR is above 12 mg/kg/min.
NEW: enter volumes as mL/day, mL/kg/day or mL/h.
NEW: also shows the infusion rate in mL/h, glucose in g/kg/day, total fluids in mL/kg/day and the approximate osmolarity.
Account for other fluids running in the same line.
GLUCOSE MIXER
The exact volume of each stock bag needed to make any strength, for example 150 mL of glucose 12%.
NEW: adjust a bag you already have — how much to remove, and how much of a stronger bag or sterile water to add.
