It just require a smart-phone with camera and it does not need any external hardware.
Place the tip of your index finger on phone’s camera and in a minute your Heart Rate will be shown.
Recognition Algorithm
When your heart beats, the volume of the blood flowing through your finger tip is changed significantly. The Heartbeat monitor application use the camera to capture the images of your finger tip and use algorithms to recognize the heart beat. Please ensure the environment is well-lit for the best performance of the camera.
