ही बाहेर दिसणारी सगळी दृष्यं रेल्वेत एकमेकांना बिलगुन बसलेली सुझान आणि डॅनियल खिडकीतून पाहत आपल्या डोळ्यांनी जणू पिऊन घेत होती. पाहतांना ते रेल्वेच्या धावण्यामुळे होणाऱ्या हालचालीसोबत हळू हळू डोलतही होते.
'' मला तर अजुनही विश्वास वाटत नाही आहे की माझी भारतात हनिमुनला येण्याची इच्छा पुर्ण होत आहे.'' सुझान म्हणाली.
डॅनियलने खोडकरपणे खिडकीतून बाहेर बघता बघता आपला गाल तिच्या गालाला घासला. तिने वळून प्रेमळपणे त्याच्याकडे बघितले. तोही प्रमाने तिच्या नजरेला नजर भिडवून बघायला लागला.
'' मला माहित नाही का? पण नेहमीच मला भारताबद्दल आकर्षण राहालं आहे... येथील संस्कृती... येथील लोक नेहमीच माझ्या उत्सुकतेचा विषय राहाले आहेत...'' सुझान म्हणाली.
डॅनियल पुन्हा तिच्याकडे एक प्रेमळ आणि आकर्षणाने युक्त, तिला आवाहन करणारा दृष्टीक्षेप टाकीत म्हणाला,
'' पण मला आता ज्याबद्दल आकर्षण वाटत आहे त्याचे काय?''
सुझानने त्याच्या डोळ्यात बघत त्याच्या डोळ्यातले ते भाव टीपले आणि लाजेने हसत मान खाली घातली.
'' तुला माहित आहे... कधी कधी असं वाटतं की आपण वर्षानुवर्षे जणू सोबतच आहोत ... पण कधी कधी असं वाटतं की आपण किती अनोळखी आहोत... जसे काही आत्ता या क्षणाला भेटतो आहोत...'' सुझान म्हणाली.
हलकेच हळूवारपणे डॅनियलचं डोकं तिच्या खांद्यावर विसावलं.
'' असं होतं... प्रेमात असं होतं कधी कधी'' डॅनियल तिला अजून बिलगत म्हणाला.
'' प्रेमात कधी कधी... आपल्याला एक क्षण कितीतरी वर्षासारखा वाटतो ... आणि कधी कधी किती वर्ष एका क्षणासारखी वाटतात... जणू वेळेचं मोजमाप पुर्णपणे बदलतं... '' डॅनियल पुढे म्हणाला.
