AetherSX2 is a PlayStation 2 emulator for Androids that lets you play any of the many games from the second Sony console which, as of 2022, remains the most sold console in history. As usual with any emulator, some games work better than others, but, in general, their performance is outstanding.
It's important to keep in mind that, for AetherSX2 to work, you need a picture of the PS2 BIOS. This is a must. Ideally, to get the BIOS, you should extract it directly from your own console using an appropriate program. But, there are, of course, simpler ways of doing this which you can discover on the Internet.
It's also important to know that, even though AetherSX2 works pretty well on medium-range devices, it's best to have an Android device with Snapdragon 845 or equivalent if you want good game performance. The emulator also works easily on devices with two processors, like with the Snapdragon 700 series, but game performance will suffer a little.
These requirements aside, AetherSX2 has a large number of features for customizing your PS2 video game emulation experience. You can configure the controls however you like by connecting a PS or Xbox controller to your Android or by simply mapping the controls on the screen.
