Muhammad al-Mukhtar al-Shanqiti devoted himself to science and teaching in the Prophet's Mosque until his death in 1405 AH. Among his students was Muhammad al-Mukhtar bin Muhammad al-Amin al-Shanqiti, a member of the Saudi Council of Senior Scholars.
