• Expansion of the forecast period for the ICON-EU WAWFOR model predictions from +48h to +78h.• New thermal forecasts provide lifting ratio , potential flight distance (hourly values and daily total), and thermal height (height of top of dry convection).
• Meteograms can now be accessed for European airfields, with options for IFR, VFR, and gliding.
• Meteograms are now also available for the home airport and favorites.

Mit dem Release 2.5 sind neu Radardaten des Deutschland Radar-Komposits verfügbar.
Die Radardaten des Deutschland Radar-Komposits basieren auf den Niederschlag-Scans der Radarstandorte des DWD und werden alle fünf Minuten aktualisiert.
Außerdem bietet das Deutschland Radar-Komposit eine Verlagerungsvorhersage für einen Vorhersagezeitraum bis +2 Stunden in fünfminütigen Zeitschritten und zeigt die unterschiedlichen Niederschlagsphasen an (Regen, Schneeregen, Schnee, Graupel/Hagel).

The Deutscher Wetterdienst is expanding the forecast data in the DWD FlugWetter app:
On November 23, 2022, additional WAWFOR (World Aviation Weather Forecast) data will be introduced with the 06 UTC model run. Additional altitude levels in 1000 feet steps will then be available in the app for the parameters wind, temperature, icing and turbulence.
In addition, minor errors have been eliminated in the new version 2.4.

Visualization of WAWFOR model forecasts (World Aviation Weather Forecast) for area Europe. The WAWFOR is a digital aeronautical dataset specifically for the purposes of aviation. The WAWFOR data are based on the DWD forecast model ICON-EU and are available for a forecast time range up to +48 hours, the time resolution is one hour.
