OpeningTree は、ユーザーがオープニングのツリーをナビゲートできるチェスのオープニングブックです。Stockfish 10 エンジンによる分析機能も利用可能で、必要に応じて複数の分析ラインを表示できます。チェスのゲームは PGN ゲームファイルから読み込んでブックと照合したり、アプリを PGN リーダーとして使用したりできます。
このオープニングブックは、過去 10 年間の両プレイヤーのレーティングが 2300 以上の約 345,000 のゲームから作成されています。手番の横に表示される統計は、勝ち、引き分け、負けとなったゲームの数です。このコンセプトは、コンピューターオープニングブックから着想を得ており、ブックを開くと、チェスのオープニングの局面に応じてプレイヤーが打つ手を見ることができるように作られています。
アプリ下部の分析ボタンは、オープニングの手番表と Stockfish エンジンの分析を切り替えます。+1.00 のスコアは白がポーン 1 つリードしていることを意味します。-1.00 のスコアは黒がポーン 1 つリードしていることを意味します。エンジンに現在最善の手を打たせる「手番」ボタンがあり、これを使用してラインアウトを行うことができます。
「アクション」メニューでPGNゲームファイルを開くことができます。OpeningTreeは、ユーザーが「PGNを開く」を選択したときにファイル選択ツールが機能するように、デバイスストレージへのアクセス許可を求めます。アプリの「アプリを開く」メニュー項目には、インストール済みのPGNファイルもいくつか含まれています。読み込み速度を確保するため、最大2500ゲームのみを読み込み/読み込みます。ファイルサイズが大きい場合、最初の2500ゲームのみが表示されます。アプリのPGNを開くか、任意のPGNを開くかを選択するメニューオプションは、特別な権限なしで使用できます。
メニューには「ボードをPGNに保存」オプションがあります。このオプションは、OpeningTreeが最初の保存時に作成するファイルに、現在の動きを保存します。これにより、ユーザーはゲームリストビューの「ゲームをメール」ボタンを使用して、アプリからデータを移動できます。ゲームは、シシリアン対シシリアンやQGDなど、オープニングにちなんで名付けられた白と黒のプレイヤー名で保存されます。
ユーザーは事前に学習するオープニングを選択するわけではありませんが、e4、d4、Nf3など、最も勝率の高い順に並べられたツリー内の最初の手すべてから開始します。数手指した後、キングズ・ギャンビットやフレンチ・ディフェンスなどのオープニング名が盤の下に表示されます。これにより、ユーザーはどのオープニングに動いたかを認識できます。
