The VinData app from RideData helps you learn about your car, truck or SUV. Easily find vehicle info including weight and engine data like horsepower using your VIN or searching by Year Make and Model.
Also get Recall info, Service Bulletins and Maintenance Data. Easily scan your VIN using the bar code scanner or simply type it out. VinData uses the Edmunds API and covers USA sold vehicles 1990 and newer.
Last year the Chevrolet Cobalt recall was widely talked about followed quickly by the recall starting with Honda before spreading to nearly every make and model vehicle having faulty potentially deadly airbags. Recalls are critically important and you should always check with your dealer for the most up to date information but this is a good place to start and verify what they tell you.
Service bulletins from car manufacturers help you stay on the lookout for problems while you're shopping for your next used car. Your vehicle safety is critical and you have the right to have some things fixed at no cost to you in many cases!
This app uses an Edmunds API and does not come with any promises, warranties or guarantees, but it still is a great resource for some information. The app uses your phones Camera to help you scan the VIN number on your vehicle.
