The RM “Intelligent Compressor Alert System” (ICAS) app. is an innovative program developed for low cost Android mobile. It monitors and alerts via SMS and/or Email, the status the MR´s compressor, pressure, AC power failures and magnet quench. It is based on the analysis of vibration of the compressor or the gas-lines and the variation of magnetic field, through three accelerometers, magnetometers and camera that integrate the Android device itself, so no installation or connections is needed, nor even a toroidal current sensor nor any electrical modification to the compressor. All parameters can be programmed remotely via SMS. It´s compatible with all magnets and compressors.
MR Compressor and Magnet Monitor (ICAS) is contactless...! It´s an innovative, economical, reliable, easy, versatile and more functional than any other device on the market today. As a matter a fact it is the only app. available on the Market as such. Android low cost devices can be purchased anywhere in the world.
Important amounts of money are spent yearly on liquid helium by increased boil-off due to compressor failure.
Increased boil-off demands higher system downtime for refilling purposes and can affect overall magnet quench. All this leads to unnecessary and unforeseen operating cost for both world and its MRI Scanner Customers.
ICAS will also contribute to protect the environment and protect the worldwide helium reserves, as this will become an issue in the coming years.
