NeoMate é baseado em diretrizes estabelecidas utilizados pelo Serviço Neonatal Londres Transferência (NTS), uma organização que transfere bebês indisposição entre unidades neonatais em Londres e no sudeste da Inglaterra. Ao padronizar o atendimento dado aos bebês, espera-se que a aplicação irá melhorar a segurança, reduzindo a variabilidade das práticas de prescrição e diretrizes locais entre diferentes unidades.
