There are so big various musical instruments of different cultures and nations that no one specialist can’s tell their approximate number. There is a classification, quite correctly:
Idiophone where the sound source is the vibration of the metal (bells, xylophones, cymbals). Membranophones in which sound creates with spanned skin (drums, tambourines). Chordophones otherwise stringed instruments. This is the largest group, which includes everything that has strings, from the piano to the balalaika. Aerophones, i.e., wind, these include pipe organ and flute. Electrophones, it is the latest group that can to simulate the sound.
